The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is the leading professional association in the solid waste industry with over 8,000 members. With a mission to advance the practice of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste, SWANA provides education and networking opportunities to solid waste professionals in every facet of the industry, benefitting individual members while also furthering the work of the industry.

When you join SWANA, your membership includes one chapter. You will automatically be enrolled in the SWANA chapter based upon the state or province of the mailing address you provided. We refer to this as your primary chapter. If you would like to change your primary chapter or join additional SWANA chapters, you may.

ISOSWO is the Iowa Chapter of SWANA. You can join multiple SWANA chapters. The first chapter is incuded with your membership. For those that wish to join ISOSWO and they have another membership they need to contact SWANA to add them to our rooster and pay the additional fee. If a member wants to add an additional chapter, the cost is according to their member type.

Your ISOSWO membership will provide opportunities to connect you with other solid waste professionals in meaningful ways to advance yourself both personally and professionally. The ISOSWO Board is comprised of dedicated volunteers who work hard to keep members informed on the latest issues and trends in the industry.
