The 2025 Equipment Road-e-o has unfortunately been cancelled.
We are in the process of issuing refunds to anyone already registered.
Ready to prove that you are the best Operator in the State and compete at SWANA’s International Road-E-O?!
This event showcases individual skills of top truck drivers, equipment operators and mechanics who are vital to solid waste operations to demonstrate who is the best operator.
The top three contestants will receive a trophy recognizing their skills at an award ceremony and the top two place winners in each category will be eligible to compete in the SWANA International Road-E-O hosted by the Florida Sunshine Chapter, date and location will be announce soon.
ISOSWO Road-E-O will consist of six events:
- Wheeled end loader
- Tracked dozer or loader
- Articulated truck
- Rear loader collection truck
- Side-loader collection truck
- Roll-off truck
Scoring is compiled through a written test, pre-trip inspection and the operator’s ability to safely negotiate the course without contacting barriers and cones. Time is only a factor when there is a tie.
Participant Qualifications
Required to be a SWANA member or be sponsored by a member in their organization
Be accident free for at least 18 months
Complete the Waiver of Liability and Release and Indemnification Agreement (pdf)
Registrants will be offered a preference of equipment to compete in yet may be limited to one event; depending on time allotment. Lunch and a t-shirt will be provided with registration for this event.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers will be needed to assist with set-up, registration, judging and clean-up. Volunteers registered prior to March will be provided an event t-shirt. Spectators
Spectators are allowed to attend at no cost but will be required to check in at the registration desk to sign a waiver and safety instructions. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs. There will be equipment on hand for people to view and chat with sales staff to see the latest equipment. Spectators who are registered prior to March 31st and pay a $25 fee are welcome to lunch (the lunch fee is included with the Competition registration.)

A room block is held for the conference at the Hampton Inn Dubuque. Cutoff date for room block rate is 3/21/25 at the rate of $109.00 plus taxes per night. Book your hotel here by 3/21!
