The Iowa Society of Solid Waste Operations (ISOSWO) Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Subcommittee is hosting a meeting on June 24th from 11AM – 12PM.

The purpose of this meeting will be to review the results of the Working Group Meetings (6/11 and 6/18) and discuss potential structure for establishing an Iowa Product Stewardship Council under the direction of the ISOSWO Board. The Iowa Product Stewardship Council could help facilitate stakeholder engagement to identify and prioritize SMM initiatives for possible implementation.

• Overview of ISOSWO TAC – SMM Committee

• Review Results of Working Group Meetings (6/11 and 6/18)

  • Is a separate Committee needed to focus on product stewardship initiatives or are current ISOSWO Committees sufficient?

  • Who can attend IAPSC Meetings?

  • Who can vote at IAPSC Meetings?

  • Would IASPC establish Members and Partners as identified in the presentation (attached)? If so, would any type of organization be excluded from either being a Member or Partner?

  • Requirements of those that can attend/vote at IAPSC Meetings (i.e., ISOSWO membership, signed letter of agreement, etc.)

  • Leadership structure of IAPSC (assigned by ISOSWO Board or voted on by IAPSC members/partners)

  • What third-party assistance might IAPSC need?
